I cannot believe I haven't reviewed the One Ocean bar. I love to come here and have a drink on the patio and I also love that the beach is steps away. The inside is nice as well, perfect for a night out, or a stop over to have a drink while you move on to the next bar. They also have my go to beer, Bold city dukes! I return to this spot often.

Absolute pleasure having girls night out. Myself, husband, and 2 other couples went in 2 weeks ago. We all had dinner at the bar by the restaurant to start off with. The drinks are a little expensive but the guy bartender was very strong on at least making them taste great and was hilarious to talk with. I spilled my glass of wine, he immediately cleaned it up and had another glass all within about 1 minute. We then got up and went outside and they have a fire pit that was cozy. The furniture could be updated but it's still presentable. A few of the waitresses came and checked on us who are not only very friendly but pretty. We'll be back for sure again. Excellent dinner, kind staff, and smooth drinks at the one ocean!

They have two bars here - one in the lobby and one adjacent to the restaurant. The restaurant one has nice views - including outdoor seating. It's nice to be near the ocean. The inside is ok but is really loud even when half crowded. if you're looking for a quiet place for a drink, head elsewhere. They have a very good wine selection. Mixed drinks were fine as well. The bartendars vary a bit - some good, some clueless. The lobby bar, which only has like six seats, is kind of fun. I doubt you'd spend a couple hours here, but it is great for a quick drink before heading out.

Completely overrated. The 1st time we went the bartender made my drink completely wrong and when I asked if she would mind making it over, she was completely irritated and then charged me $16 for it. We sat outside by the fire which was actually really nice, but decided not to get another drink because it took too long for the first round, they weren't very friendly and they charge us an arm and a leg. The 2nd time we went, we decided to eat there too. Stood at the bar for 10 minutes while 3 bartenders just kept working every once in awhile glancing over at us. The hostess was rude. Just said we could get food at a table if we wanted to, but didn't seat us. We finally just ended up walking out and as soon as we did, the bartender yelled "can I help you"?

We love the staff and service we receive from the One Ocean Bar. It is the best place to watch the people come on and off Atlantic Beach. We love Theresa, the most fabulous and wonderful server who really works to make life great there in the bar area. She works really hard to make sure that your order is correct and that you are happy with the product. We've been there for Thanksgiving and the entire staff are great as well. The outside seating area is best in the beach area.

Service has been great. The bartenders, Doug and Tara, we're phenomenal. There wasn't a request they didn't fulfill for me and a friend. The staff was very friendly and talkative. Couldn't ask for better service.

A nice place to sit and have a drink, but on Sunday afternoon there was 1 bartender working the entire lounge and outside area. He was nice but you can imagine the wait.... Even when we went inside to get our own drinks. The bathrooms are clean and the decor is nice... Very south beachy

I've only been in here for drinks but it is a posh place with a nice outdoor patio area. There is some great people watching available here - it's a different crowd than some of the other AB bars (which have great people watching in their own right) so grab a cocktail and enjoy!

You have been transported to the most sterile and soulless location on Jacksonville Beach. There is nothing friendly or comforting about this place. The walls are without decoration. The concrete echoes your every step. Somewhere there is a designer with no imagination. Two drinks, $21. That says it all. Then we sat outside and the cushions were soaking wet but you couldn't tell by looking. Ooops. (We saw this happen to two more groups and the staff did nothing.) I'm sure someone loves this place. It's not me. We won't be back.

Over rated. The bartender here has a real following though. Forget his name but he is well liked. I am an ex bartender from many years ago and I wasn't really that impressed.

We were there for drinks, not a meal. They had a good wine selection, fabulous ocean views, and excellent attentive service. We were outside enjoying the evening, with a waitress that was all class and service.

First I'll say that yes, they did an awesome job renovating this location. It is extremely upscale, and if you take all of the people in it away it has a great ambiance. That being said, during my visit there the clientele was so pretentious I could barely stand to just HEAR them speak in my general vicinity much less actually have conversation with them. This seemed to be the hang out for all of the people who really needed to be flashy with their money, or at least appear to have money. The wait staff, however, was good. They were very attentive to what was a rather busy bar. I never had to wait very long for a drink. This was a good thing considering this is probably the most expensive place I can think of to go in town. I can recall that the martini's my date was drinking were $18 a piece, and they weren't anything special either. Personally given the type of people I ran into there, and the severe over-pricing of their drinks I would never go here again.

I really hope this doesn't come off as nit picky but my experience at the bar was not a good one. Ok. I've never been a guest at this hotel. A friend of mine stayed here for a few days and she seemed to like it. The room was very pretty and clean and that's all I can say about the hotel. I did go to the bar for a couple drinks with friends on my birthday recently so I can only talk about that. The decor is very pretty and upscale modern which appeals to me because I really don't like the typical rowdy/meat market/Fletcher used-to-be's bars at the beach. (not hating on anyone it's just not my cup of tea-and I am a Fletcher alumni before anyone gets mad :o) ) I probably go out like this once every other year if at all. I really can't find anything bad to say about the look of the place and the bathrooms were very clean and nice. For the most part, the people working there seemed friendly, except for the bartenders but I'll get to that. I came in with about 5 people and there were about 5 others waiting for me and maybe a handful of other patrons there hanging out. There wasn't any music which didn't bother me but it did feel kind of weird that they didn't at least have some light jazz or even muzak but ok. We weren't there to get rowdy just like I said have a couple of cosmos and a few sips of champagne, nothing crazy. The drinks were good, I'll say that first. I ordered a lemon drop martini with Absolut Citron and the bartender told me they had only 2 kinds of vodka (I believe it was Grey Goose and Smirnoff) but not Absolut which really didn't bother me but it took a really long time and they treated us like we were a huge inconvenience. (I'm not big vodka drinker or have any strong brand preference, I just like the lemon flavor since it's a lemon drink). My husband ordered a bottle of champagne and before giving us the bottle and glasses, the bartender snootily let him know that it costs $50.00 as if he thought we couldn't afford it. I thought that was pretty rude, pretentious and frankly laughable considering the only champagne they had available was Chandon and not something better since they are trying to be an "upscale" place. Everything(even though the service took forever) felt so rushed and such a bother both of the bartenders were being like that and I even asked what time they closed just in case that was what their attitudes were about. I was told 1am and it was about 11:30 so I still don't know what their problem was. Before leaving I ordered a gingerale after my 2 drinks and sip of champagne just to have something to drink that was non alcoholic and gave the bartender a 10 expecting change. I had to ask for my change. I'm guessing he thought I was either too drunk(which I absolutely was NOT) or too cheap to leave a decent tip. But for a 3 dollar gingerale(that I had pour myself) I shouldn't have to ask for change from a 10 and mind you we had been tipping well while there even though the service didn't deserve it. This is a left over habit from having worked in the service industry in my teens so I still left him a couple dollars but it was little things like that that added up that gave me a bad taste in my mouth when I think about our short time there. The bartenders were jerks, sorry. That's really the only bad thing I can say because like I said, I ordered two martinis and they were both delicious. I just never expected to be treated this way at a place trying to pride itself on being "upscale". My husband and I have been to/stayed at more than a few 4 & 5 star hotels and restaurants( I'm only writing that so whoever reading this would know that I do have a point of reference.) So I don't expect to be a$$ kissed just because a place is "upscale" but I'm used to better service than that. Would I go here again? Only if a friend really really wanted to go here because like I said I don't really like going to bars and at least this place is clean, nice, and safe. But the bartenders are kind of rude and need better service training.

Went here one evening for drinks and desert. Service was a little off--at first cheese flight arrived without bread (but with a strange selection of biscuits--some that you really would not consider putting cheese on). Cheese flight seemed a little bland (and did not arrive with a knife). I had the sidecar cocktail, which was okay-ish. I also had the creme brûlées. These came as two mini-desserts (one vanilla and one lavender). The lavender one in particular was great and made the visit worthwhile. The outside area was a little dark, making it hard to read the menu (something about not having too much light in case the sea turtles got confused and ended up tomorrow's "special").

I gave this place a 4 because I seriously felt like I was in another city and NOT Jacksonville, FL. This hotel/bar has been totally renovated (Old Sea Turtle Inn)! They have are very modern theme and the ambiance is exquisite. For a up scale hotel, they make very strong drinks. They have a large outdoor seating are with fire pit (bonus). If they had a live DJ or better music I would have given a 5. I will go back to try the food and give an update.

I am local and visited the restaurant. Good news first.....The service was excellent. I had a very nice glass of Pinot Noir for $14 a glass. The pour was generous and the quality good. The beet and goat cheese salad was very good. The creaminess of the cheese went well with the roasted beets. For the main course the Cobia was overpowered by fennel. Fennel was not listed as an ingredient on the menu description but it needs to be since it was so prevalent. ( I don't like fennel and would have made another choice had I known) Also, the fish was overcooked... had I been with different company I would have sent it back. I won't say that I am not eventually going back for a second try but if next time doesn't go better no more chances for me......
